Visit in Greece
On May 25th -28th 2006 the representatives of partner schools taking part in Socrates Comenius project: “Four Seasons for Europe: how seasons influence our lives” participated in the second project meeting in Greece. Our school was represented by the head teacher Mrs Anna Gaudzińska-Głowa, Mrs Krystyna Samborska and Mr Robert Naczas.
Report on the visit
The school we visited was 8 th Demotiko Scholio Aghias Paraskevis. We made the first steps towards the kindergarten which is right next to the Greek school. The children welcomed us with dance and singing: all the guests watched their performance with attention.
Then, we got the guides who showed us round the school: they were Emilka and Ewelina- two Polish girls who spoke Polish very well (Emilka was born in Poland and Ewelina in Greece). We had a walk around the building, we watched displays with children’s artistic works and we attended classes led by the Greek teachers. We had the chance to talk about the Greek educational system which turned out to be similar to Polish. We also admired the garden tended by the pupils.
Next event of our meeting was project discussion of all the teachers where we discussed and summed up activities done so far, we worked on the draft of the final report and we planned the visit in Poland in October 2006. We also talked about Comenius Calendar of Festivals.
A very nice moment of the day was shared meal. It was very special because it consisted of the traditional Greek dishes prepared by students’ mothers.
On the second day of the visit we were invited to the solemn celebration of Comenius partnership. We were welcomed by the mayor of Aghia Paraskevi and the head teacher of the school. After that the show prepared by the children started. We really enjoyed beautiful folk attires, traditional dances and singing. An unusual surprise were the songs sang by the choir in French, Finnish, English and Polish languages. During the ceremony we also watched multimedia presentation on the project and activities undertaken by the Greek school.
During the whole visit we had the chance to observe and take photographs of the Greek nature: orange, fig, olive trees, laurel hedge, beautiful palm trees and other plants known in Poland only as houseplants.
Thanks to the unusual hospitality, friendliness, warmth of the hosts and common conversations with extremely nice people, the meeting in Athens will stay in our memory for a very long time…

IV Family Days and Comenius Feast in the community
centre in Białobrzegi District
IV Family Day and a Comenius Day took place on the 10th June in the nearby Community Centre. It was the summary of our year-long work in Socrates Comenius Project. The School Festival began with the sport competition for the willing students. The audience had the chance to admire the performance of two dance groups: “Kleks” and “Forget-me-Nots”. Our students presented an artistic show consisting of songs and short performances: “ Cigarettes are not the solution”, “Syzyf’ and “A goat, a goat cub and a wolf”. Some multimedial presentations also took place, which included the activities our school undertook within the frames of Socrates Comenius Project, a report from the visit in Athens and finally some information about partner countries and schools prepared by the students of our school.
There was also a lottery and traditional food and drinks. The final event of the whole day was a discotheque for all the students of our school.
